Build A Box and More

Clockwise: Tenon Saw, Rabbet Plane, Router Plane, Cut Nails, Plow Plane
Getting ready for the box building workshop at the Landmarks Preservation Resource Center on Sept 19th at 10am (details on the Classes and Presentations tab above). These are some of the tools we're going to get a taste of as we complete a small box. Boxes are one of the core forms of woodwork and many things are based on them, I'm sure you can think of a few. Should be a fun time with lots of learning. Also hopefully to be unveiled will be some new tool chests for the student tools. These tool chests use many of the techniques of the small box, just scaled up to a larger size.

Also coming up this fall we'll have a green wood spoon carving course with the Steel City Folk School at their November 7th session. Registration is open, join us for 6 hours of spoon carving in Pittsburgh's East End!

Later in November we'll be back at the Landmarks Preservation Resource Center for a workshop on building a small frame with mortise and tenon joints.
